Spiritual well-being is an integral part of overall health and has a direct effect on the quality of sleep and general mental and physical health. All participants in the study reported sleep disorders, which is why it is proposed to carry out interventions with qualitative approaches to explore the factors that affect the spiritual and general health of patients on hemodialysis. This way, intervention programs could be designed to improve their quality of life. Sleep is one of the most essential needs for human beings, both physically, mentally, and emotionally.
It is a sign of physical health, which can be influenced by religious practices, prayer, and the use of magnets. This study focused on the components of spiritual health, such as factors of mental relaxation and reduction of discomfort caused by illness. Health plans for patients on hemodialysis should be designed with these factors in mind to promote their quality of life. From a spiritual perspective, lack of sleep is one of the main ways in which we block our power, creativity, and intuition.
Sleep is the time when the body has a chance to repair itself. When your body can't repair itself, not only do you feel bad, but you also feel blocked. Your energy field weakens, which decreases your presence of power. When you don't get enough sleep, you're actually sabotaging your physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
In order to improve patients' sleep qualities, it is necessary to improve mental and spiritual health, leading to a better quality of life. The spiritual well-being score was derived from the sum of two subgroups, which was considered to range from 120 to 20. The threat to physical health as a result of the complications of an illness, such as sleep disorders, can jeopardize other aspects of health, such as mental and spiritual health. Studies have shown that for up to 94% of patients, physical and spiritual health have been equally important.
Taking into account the effects of sleep problems on mental disorders, the treatment of the disease in patients with special problems should be addressed. Considering that the bed is one of the most vital physical, mental and emotional needs, it is very important for the mental and spiritual well-being of hemodialysis patients since it is a factor that influences mental relaxation and the reduction of tensions caused by the disease. It is recommended to pay attention to the components of sleep quality and the spiritual well-being of hemodialysis patients when formulating and promoting health care programs. Normal sleep is a sign of physical health and well-being.
Studies focus on the relationship between spirituality and physical and mental health in addition to promoting adaptation. Patients with chronic renal failure and patients on hemodialysis frequently report sleep disorders. The reliability of both questionnaires in this study was confirmed by the halving test with an alpha %3D 0.89 for the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index and an alpha %3D 0.81 for the Spiritual Well-Being Index. The American Psychiatric Association recommends that doctors ask patients to be religious and have spiritual guidance in order to improve their overall quality of life. It is essential for healthcare professionals to understand how sleep affects spiritual well-being in order to provide effective treatments for those suffering from chronic illnesses such as hemodialysis.
By understanding how sleep affects spiritual well-being, healthcare professionals can create interventions that will help improve patient's quality of life.
