We also asked them what their habits, practices, or resources had been most useful for promoting spiritual health. So what ideas did our 12 BAM practitioners share? In this Part 1, we identified the four main threats to spiritual health that they identified.
Almost everything they shared as a challenge can be divided into these four main areas:. Then, in the second part, we'll share the useful practices and resources they've discovered that have helped them to nourish their spiritual health. One of the greatest threats to my spiritual health has been to face the tyranny of the urgent in the face of the need to have daily intimacy with God. Family, business and cultural stress are an inevitable part of life.
Every Christian will experience the temptation to give in to anxiety or to allow the stresses of life to damage spiritual health. However, for the BaMer, relentless pressure from a company, often under uncertain circumstances, can be a particularly powerful threat. Loneliness trapped Elijah and it will trap us. You feel alone at the top, as they say.
Personally, I've realised that no one understands me or that I shouldn't be a burden or that I would hesitate in private or something of nonsense. As a result, I walk alone without a close brother to share the burden with, and I end up straying from the path, feeling sorry for myself and, once again, exhausted. Although Lent is coming to an end, there is still plenty of time to work on the many bad habits that damage our relationship with the Lord.

Physical health can negatively affect your mental health in the same way. If you're sick or feel out of shape, this can start to make you feel depressed or angry. It can end up turning your physical ailments into your mental illnesses as well. Without a good outlook on spiritual and physical health, poor planning results in a lack of time, energy and effort to maintain health.
Many people with mental illness feel a sense of hope when talking to a religious or spiritual leader. Taking care of your spiritual, mental and physical health is important for an optimal and healthy life. For us, lack of perseverance and travel complicate this ability to maintain spiritual health and I haven't really found a key or answer to this that will help us. Taking a spiritual journey could help you and your family live a healthier life, both emotionally and physically.
I believe that political instability in Haiti and a stressful environment affect spiritual life, since they reduce the time of communion together. It has also been a challenge to bring “spiritual disciplines” such as prayer and the search for God from “ministry” to the business environment. Religious and spiritual beliefs are an important part of how many people deal with the joys and difficulties of life. Not being able to build honest, life-giving relationships or to experience communion with other believers was a real danger to spiritual vitality.
Your spirituality or your faith encourages you to connect with your inner self on a deeper level, which supports your mental health. Doctors and scientists once avoided studying spirituality in relation to medicine, but more recent findings have caused some to reconsider it. .
